My favorite place in Lawrence! If you haven't tried eating here, you're missing out. Great owner, staff, and food! You won't find anything else like here in the area!!
Forgot to take photos of our food because we ate it so quickly. We ordered an array of items, everything was excellent. From the adult beverages to the cup of soup, arepa, breakfast potatoes/ eggs/ green chile red chile.. fantastic. As a gluten free (not celiac) vegetarian, married to a vegetarian, we were shocked by how many options we had on the menu. We were surprised to have no wait to sit, good service, and most shocking of all - how affordable it was. We will be back any time we visit Lawrence.

Another great visit to Global Cafe! My Global latte (dark chocolate w/chile infused simple syrup) was amaaaazing and my Global quesadilla was really yummy! Crystal got the Strawberry and Banana pancakes and....... WOW! We are already looking forward to our next visit! Only negative, as a person who is highly sensitive to high pitch sounds, the constant door bell dinging was a little harsh, but that is just me and my wife. :)
Came in at peak time - full cafe and great energy. The person who greeted and sat me let me know that the kitchen had just been slammed, so orders may take a bit longer. That was very thoughtful! But the food and drink came out in great time. Lovely ambiance in this cute little cafe. It was nice to sit and relax. I tried the Global Mocha, which featured a dark chocolate infused with green chiles. It was gorgeous!! Green chiles are a great compliment to chocolate. They did it perfectly here. The server recommended the iced version as they serve iced lattes with coffee ice cubes. *Chef's kiss* I got the special Pain Perdu - New Orleans style French toast. Served with bacon and syrup. Delicious! Can't wait to come back and try lunch!
I’ve been going to Global Cafe every weekend for 3.5 months now. The service and food are outstanding and it is now my favorite place in Lawrence for brunch. The environment is always welcoming and has such a great atmosphere. The latest special I had was the mimosa flight (pictured) that was a perfect addition to biscuits and gravy with their staple green chili. This is a place that is always 5/5 stars.
First time here. My picky little eater loved her food and told the very kind and energetic waitress she gives the restaurant five stars! So thought I better share.
excellent pozole, and the green one is vegan! the arepas are petite but fairly priced. those are my recommendations when coming here, and you’ll more likely get a table if you arrive just beg pre closing at midday.
